Dedicated to the memory of lovely Spike

This site is a tribute to Spike [Simon Mullings] who was born in Kingsbury, London on July 07, 1967.   He was the much-loved son of Gill and Pete and treasured brother to Sharon. He was utterly and deeply loved by his wife and soulmate Melanie and father to his adored children Maisie and Sonny. His close friends, wider friends and colleagues are too many to name or count

We are all utterly devastated by his loss but mindful to celebrate the life of this very beautiful, kind, funny and talented man.

Spike was one of the most dedicated and best lawyers I have ever met and a very supportive colleague when we worked together at EDS

We have such warm and happy memories of Spike, and a few words cannot do justice to the wonderful man he was. Two threads stand out for us though: Christmas and music. For many years Mel and Spike’s Christmas Eve gatherings were a highlight for our family. The point where all the pre-Christmas stress and fretting was done and we could relax in the company of the loveliest of people. Then there would be Spike and friends, leading us in song through Christmas in Washington, and Fairytale of New York. If the rest of the holiday season had ever been cancelled, the gathering would have been enough. We spoke often of music, and I know Rory always enjoyed conversations with him too. Back when Rory was 15 and a budding guitarist, Spike asked if we could perform at Mel’s birthday party, Melfest. At the time, Rory had hardly ever performed. I was a much less talented guitarist and had never played in public. We were both petrified, but Spike’s affirmation and encouragement got us onto the stage and we made it through. He applauded us at the end with the words ‘That’s how we roll in Forest Gate!’ We will miss him, and remember him with love.
